HUIT SUSHI is a contemporary Japanese restaurant in Montreux, Switzerland. The clients, owners of a well-known Asian cuisine restaurant, wanted to completely renew the space and create an interior that would match the quality of the cuisine: modern, visually expressive, and able to enhance the overall guest experience.

The interior is organized around two intersecting walls: one in polished metal and the other in illuminated acrylic. They divide the restaurant into four main zones: the open kitchen, dining area, cocktail bar, and waiting lounge. This cross-shaped layout supports intuitive circulation while maintaining a clear separation between functional areas.

The design combines neutrality, flexibility, and expressive work with materials. Black furniture accents, together with tables and the bar counter made from inhomogeneous acrylic mixtures, form a restrained interior base, while large openings, reflective metal surfaces, and LED lighting change its perception throughout the day.

At the core of the concept are contrast and rhythm: the illuminated acrylic wall and reflective metal wall guide movement, define zones, and set the emotional tone of the restaurant. As part of this project, Trentini coordinated the implementation of a custom lighting solution — panels capable of changing the colour and perception of the interior. Among the functional details is an illuminated restroom door within the LED wall system, which supports visual coherence and adds an element of playful interaction to the space.

HUIT SUSHI is a space where restraint, material precision, and dynamic lighting create an emotionally expressive atmosphere. Here, concept, materials, and spatial flow work together to enhance the restaurant experience.
